So, Res. Life, the sitcom that will be airing soon has new content up on its web site. Funny content. Really, you should check it out.
Especially interesting to me is this page that has me featured. Hey, credit! Granted, there is a differentiation between “written by” and “story by.” Which is funny because I also wrote it too. Because it is on my hard drive.
My co-writer (or the only credited writer, I should say), called me a few weeks ago.
“Hey Adrienne. Bet you never thought you’d hear this voice again,” he said.
“Uh, no actually. I didn’t.”
“Yeah. I am just calling because I considered you a friend. I didn’t want there to be bad blood between us.”
“Um, what? Are you dying or something?”
“No.”
“Did you join AA?”
“No! Seriously. I just didn’t want there to be any bad blood between us. I got caught up in life and forgot about the pilot, actually. I meant to call, but you know how things go.”
“Sure. Whatever. Well, I guess I forgive you then. For all that there is to forgive.”
I did this because I read somewhere I was supposed to. Though, really, I would have preferred to maintain the anger. And said co-writer did not actually apologize, offer money or (most importantly), shared credit. He just didn’t want there to be any “bad blood.”
So, there is no bad blood here. There is, however, an insistence on the truth. Though the two are different now, at least to me.
