Basketball is that sport with the hoop, right?
March 13, 2007

It is March.  In March, there is madness. Madness that has to do with college basketball, apparently.  I know little about such things.  My friend Brian, who knows even less about sports than I, started a pool relating to this madness because, again, this is apparently what you do.

Here are some creative ways Brian and I decided to pick the teams we thought would win:

1. ask a Ouija board
2. read tea leaves
3. consult the Oracle at Delphi (or a gym teacher)
4. choose based on which team name would score the most points in Scrabble
5. select who has the prettier uniform
6. consider which mascot would most likely eat the other if they were locked in a cage together
7. U.S. News & World Report college rankings
8. bibliomancy
9. copy your jock brother’s selections

My money is on Pitt winning the whole tournament thingy.  Mostly because there was an online chart and I just kept clicking buttons until all of the places were filled and Pitt ended up in the last box.

I figure it is a precise a method as any.  Except maybe bibliomancy.

What teams are your picks?
